The Medicine Park Aquarium & Natural Sciences Center invites you and your students to immerse in a unique educational experience. We know you want to teach outside the box, and we’re here to help.

Our age-appropriate educational programming is aligned to Oklahoma State Teaching Standards and makes plain old text come alive. We reinforce and expand upon the skill and knowledge sets that students have already mastered in the classroom.

Students will never look at their surroundings the same way after interacting with our creatures. Inspire a love of life-long learning and intellectual curiosity in just one afternoon.

INTERACTIVE LESSONS AVAILABLE FOR GROUPS

Our education team now has lessons available for five different concepts! Availability varies by grade level, Pre-K through 8th grade. Please note that lessons must be scheduled in advance. Lesson packages include group rate admission for full access to the aquarium and grounds. Each class is about 10-15 minutes long.

AVAILABLE CONCEPTS

Adaptations - Students will learn about different habitats and how animals have adapted to survive in the environment that they are in. 

Introductions to Seasons - Students will learn about the 4 seasons and what different types of animals do during that season. 

Weather - Students will learn how humans address weather and how it impacts local ecosystems. 

Food Chain - Students will learn about the food chain and how each tier of producers, consumers and decomposers are important to each other. 

Genetics - Students will learn about the science of heredity (genes and traits) and how they affect not only humans but animals as well.

DISCOUNTED PRICING FOR SCHOOL GROUPS

We offer deeply discounted educational pricing. For only $7 per person, students can experience all that the Aquarium has to offer. We also have a grant program for qualifying Title I schools. Contact us to find out how we can help fund your field trip.

GRANT PROGRAMS

Our staff can work together with your school to seek out grant funding that would allow ongoing integration with our facility as part of your science curriculum. We have a partnership already in place with Cache Public Schools that spans multiple grades. We can help build something similar at your school. Contact us to find out how we can help.

HOME SCHOOL TEACHERS

We are here to support your education efforts as well. The organized group rate of $7 is offered to home school groups of 10 or more.  Coordinate your visit with our education team to customize the program to your needs. We are always open to ideas and feedback, so please share!
